Hunter (Honey-Bee, Honey Bunny) Pianko

11/3/2013 – 5/5/2025

I met Hunter at Action for Animals (local shelter) when he was 8 months old and looking for his forever home. He was a beagle/foxhound who loved to bark, play, go on walks and car rides (he had been to more states than most people). He especially loved to go camping with our family in our RV motor home, where he would sit at my mom's feet on the passenger side looking out the doggy window. He loved people watching, basking in the sun and being with his family while traveling. He would get smiles, waves and chuckles from passers-by bringing joy to so many people. He never turned away a rub on the head or belly from family or strangers, and people would always comment that he is so soft, which is why one of his many nicknames was fuzzy puppy, even though he was 13 years old.

He still acted like a puppy grabbing clothes and socks waiting for you to chase him so that you would give him a treat so you could get the item back, he would grab a squeaky toy or ball and take off running or run back and forth with his fur brother. Hunter continued acting like a puppy up until close to the end of his life.

Even though Hunter had health issues for quite some time and left us due to kidney disease, he continued to enjoy life and was loved by all, especially his family and all the people at the vet clinic saying, "He was a special boy". Hunter was more than a pet – he was family and brought so much joy and memories to my life - I miss his barking, seeing him sleeping in his four-post bed, his companionship, comfort and unconditional love.

I am sure Gidget, Copper, Shadow and Bart were all waiting for him at the rainbow bridge. Hunter, you will always be in my heart.
