Sampson - what a sweet sweet soul! The most gentle and loyal 110lb Pitt/Mastiff mix.

We adopted Sampson form Mending Hearts in Hollidaysburg, PA in December of 2022 where they estimated him to be approx. 8 years young. His story started as he was found as a stray in Altoona, taken to Mending Hearts, adopted but returned due to no fault of his own. He ended up being in the shelter for about 2 years, with not much interest due to his size and age. Mending Hearts felt that he would end up living out his remaining days with them.

We lost our beloved Chai (Pitbull) at the blessed age of 14 in November of 2022. We decided to donate some of her belongings to Mending Hearts. And that's where we met Sampson. After the first few hours of him checking out his new home, it was as if Sampson was always our dog since he was born! He fit in perfectly, and completed us!

Sampson was my Soul Dog, and a true Mama's boy! My husband is retired military, and Sampson was his Service Dog. We thought we were rescuing him, when he truly rescued us. No words can describe the love we have for him, and him us. He really made a HUGE impact on our lives, and we were the lucky ones to have had him!

We can't wait to see you soon at the Rainbow Bridge. Until then, enjoy spending time with the rest of our loved pets and family while you wait for us. We LOVE you Big Guy! Our most Handsome Sampson, you are forever in our hearts!!!!
